Raaz 3 (2012) review - Emraan Hashmi, Bipasha Basu, Esha Gupta

The first Raaz movie was an interesting amalgamation of sex and horror. Then came the second installment, Raaz-TMC (Too Much Crap). The only scary scenes of this movie were when Adhyayan Suman and Kangana Ranaut tried to act. The scariest scene in the movie was when Kangana tried to say something in English. I still get nightmares. 

Raaz 3 is the third installment of the Raaz series and it hits the theaters today. 
It is totally understandable if you have taken an unbreakable vow to never watch any of the Raaz movies again, after watching Raaz-TMC. 
But are you sure you wanna miss the chance of watching a decently erotic movie in 3D?

If you have seen the promos, you already know that Raaz 3 is the story of black magic, dusky Esha and duskier Bipasha. Revealing anything more will be spoilers. 
With two hot actresses in the movie, you need a horny actor to make the horny audiences happy. Emraan Hashmi comes to rescue here. He not only kisses them passionately, he also ACTS in the movie. 

It is no news that Esha Gupta was a replacement to Jacqueline Fernandez. Jacqueline was suppose to do some sort of cameo in the movie but unfortunately I never saw Jacqueline, unless she was playing the bandage covered ghost.

Raaz 3 succeeds in scaring you. What works in its favor is that the movie is in 3D and unlike other you-call-this-3D movies, this one actually has some good 3D effects to boast about. 
Also, the black magic is scary because there are ghosts/spirits involved. This is not one of those black magic movies where the cameraman tries to scare you, instead of actors and plot(yes I mean the Phoonk series). 

Although I must admit that a ghost named Tara Dutt can totally turn a horror movie into comedy. I witnessed it first hand when the audiences couldn't stop laughing every time Tara Dutt came on screen. The laughter was at its peak when Tara Dutt goes topless. 

Apart from the scary scenes, there is a lot of sex in the movie. You get to watch sex in 3D! Even the ghost has sex at one point of time. Nobody stays horny when it comes to Bhatt movies. The Bhatt camp should be declared as the brand ambassador of sex. Can we partially blame them for the nation's population increase? 

My only complain with the movie is that the ghost could have looked scarier. He looks like a retard combination of an egyptian mummy and wooden furniture. In some scenes, Esha Gupta without makeup looks scarier than the ghost. 

On a serious note, my final verdict is that Raaz 3 is much better than Raaz-TMC and is at par with Raaz if not better than it. If you plan to watch it then I would recommend to watch it in 3D to enhance the fun
